HALF-TIME VISITING PROFESSOR
OF COMMUNICATION STUDIES

The Department of Communication Studies at Edgewood College, a small liberal arts college in Madison Wisconsin, invites applications for a Half-time Visiting Professor beginning in the Fall 2008 semester.

Responsibilities: This is a two semester appointment. In the fall term teaching responsibilities with include an introductory course in interpersonal communication and a section of the College’s required public speaking course; in the spring term teaching responsibilities will include introduction to interpersonal communication and a course in relational communication or a course in group discussion and team leadership. In addition the position will include some governance responsibilities in a rapidly growing department.

Qualifications: M.A. in Communication specializing in Interpersonal Communication and a record of excellence in teaching public speaking. Course work beyond the Masters is desirable. The candidate should have teaching exemplary experience; a commitment to teaching excellence, to integrative/interdisciplinary approaches to learning, and to scholarly productivity in a liberal arts context.

The candidate must actively support the mission of the college by working with faculty, staff and students to share in our core values - truth, compassion, justice, partnership, and community.
