Assistant Professor of English in The Department of English at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles seeks an assistant professor of English to fill a tenure-track position in British literature of the Renaissance/Early Modern Period beginning in fall 2009. A Ph.D., a record of successful undergraduate teaching, and evidence of a promising research program are required. Experience in one or more of the following areas would strengthen the application: teaching a British literature survey; researching the history and material production of poetry, drama or fiction in English; or teaching composition or rhetoric classes. The normal teaching load is 3/3, often including general education, pre-major, major and MA courses. As part of an intercultural, student-centered institution, the LMU English Department promotes teaching diverse course content using inclusive/critical pedagogies.
