Affirmative Action Register is launching a new section: AAR Business.

As businesses become more global and more technologically complex, the demands placed on employees and those who manage them are greater. A business does not thrive with employees who are mediocre. To thrive – or even survive – in today’s fast paced and competitive economy, a business needs to have employees who are competent, intelligent, educated and motivated.

Sometimes it is difficult for a Human Resources Manager to know where to turn to recruit such employees. Enormous, general online job websites will generate an overwhelming response, but very few of those responses are from qualified people. Niche job boards and magazines can result in qualified applicants, but sometimes their “niche” is so narrow that you have to advertise in many such publications or websites in an effort to find even a few applicants that have all the qualifications you need.

The Affirmative Action Register combines the best of these two concepts in that our readership is quite large, very diverse, and very well educated.

As a reader of our magazine and website, you no doubt know that many of the jobs posted are for academic positions. What you may not know is that our subscribers and readers are not limited only to job seekers wishing to pursue an academic career. Our magazine is distributed monthly to (1) public libraries (2) university/college libraries (3) organizations serving minorities, women, persons with disabilities and veterans (4) private individuals (5) college and university career centers and (6) government employment agencies. In fact, our distribution to organizations and our policy of requesting non-profit institutions circulate and even copy our magazine has led to a monthly “pass-through” readership of more than three million.

One thing our readers have in common (besides seeking employment) is that they are highly educated professionals. A substantial number of our readers possess advanced or professional degrees. People like this bring a wealth of abilities to any workplace.

Another thing our readers have in common is, paradoxically, diversity. Our subscribers include historically black colleges and universities, women’s organizations, and organizations serving Hispanic, Asian and Native American populations. When your business advertises with us, you can be assured that your recruitment advertisement will be seen by a wide variety of people who have the competencies and skills you need.

To place an advertisement with AAR Business, you can either email us at ads@aarjobs.com or use our online form at www.aarjobs.com/submitad.htm. Indicate that you would like to be placed in the Business section.
